MAGGOT THERAPY IN CONFLICT-AFFECTED COMMUNITIES

 

A research project fo the Humanitarian Grand Challenge was prepared by Dr. Frank Stadler and his team at MedMagLabs. A Treatment Manual (including videos) and Production- and User Manuals for conflict-affected communities was developed, which also includes a shipping container laboratory for the production of medicinal maggots in the field. The resources can be seen and downloaded in the following links: www.medmaglabs.com.

 

Maggot Debridement Therapy

The treatment of skin and soft tissue infections with fly larvae

Apitherapy (Bee Venom Therapy)

the use of the bee venom for the treatment of chronic inflammatory and disabling diseases such as arthritis and multiple sclerosis.

Helminthotherapy

The use of parasitic worms for the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative collitis and Crohn’s disease.

Hirudotherapy

the use of medicinal leeches for eliminating congested blood from inflamed parts of the body, as well as for peripheral venous and arterial diseases.

Ichthyotherapy

the treatment of skin diseases such as psoriasis and abscesses with the help of living fish.
